2101 hrs / Incident / 5600 block Calle Pacific

A man was contacted during a premise check. He was known to have two outstanding warrants. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

2257 hrs / Incident / 900 block Concha Loma Drive

Deputies responded to a report of a hit and run at Concha Loma Drive. During the investigation, a traffic enforcement stop was conducted on the suspect vehicle in the grocery store parking lot. The driver displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and later admitted to backing into a vehicle on Concha Loma Drive. A chemical test was administered, and the driver blew a 0.08% BAC. The driver was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. 

 

Tuesday, April 4

2134 hrs / Narcotics / 5500 block Carpinteria Avenue

A traffic enforcement stop was conducted on a vehicle for having expired registration. During the investigation, the driver was found in possession of methamphetamine. She was cited and released. 

 

Wednesday, April 5

0955 hrs / Incident / Carpinteria Avenue

A late theft from a vehicle was reported by the owner. The theft occurred on Tuesday, April 4, at approximately 0230 hours. Video footage shows possibly two subjects getting out of a newer-looking white truck with a possible Arizona license plate. Items taken were Milwaukee toolboxes and tools, approximately worth $800.

 

1312 hrs / Incident / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

A reporting party came to the lobby to report his vehicle was stolen. The reporting party advised he was attempting to sell the vehicle in November 2022. A subject wanted to purchase the vehicle, but stated he wanted it looked at by his mechanic. The reporting party accepted a security deposit for the vehicle and stayed in contact with the man. The reporting party stated the suspect has now stopped communicating with him and still has not paid full price for the vehicle.

 

1543 hrs / Missing Adult / 5700 block Carpinteria Avenue

The reporting party came into the lobby to report his son had been missing since Monday, April 3. The father stated he and his son reside in Upland, and work construction in Carpinteria. The reporting party last heard from his son on Monday via text message, stating he was on his way to Carpinteria. Deputies contacted local police and sheriff’s departments near or around Upland, but they hadn’t had any contact with the missing person. He was entered into the missing persons system. 

 

2216 hrs / Incident / Dorrance Way

Deputies responded to noise complaints on Dorrance. When deputies arrived, they observed a juvenile party with no signs of adults present. Upon entry, multiple juveniles attempted to flee into the residence. Deputies located an adult on scene who stated he knew his children had friends over but claimed he did not know there was underage drinking happening in his garage. Parents were called for the juveniles on scene and picked up. The adult was issued a citation and his daughter, who admitted to drinking alcohol and was in the garage where the alcohol was present, was issued a citation for a minor in possession. 

 

2301 hrs / Incident / 5400 block Carpinteria Avenue

A traffic enforcement stop was initiated for a violation and the driver had the odor of alcohol emanating from her breath and person. Sobriety Field Tests were administered, and the driver’s PAS was 0.09%. Evidential breath tests showed 0.08%. The driver was arrested for the violations.

 

Saturday, April 8

0225 hrs / Narcotics / Carpinteria Avenue

Traffic stop was initiated because the driver failed to come to a complete stop for the red light at Casitas Pass Road and Carpinteria Avenue. The driver was displaying symptoms of DUI and sobriety field tests were conducted. Based on observations he was arrested for DUI. Three passengers consented to a search of their persons and a passenger was found in possession of a bindle of meth. The DUI subject provided a breath sample, 0.17/0.16% BAC, and was booked into Santa Barbara County Jail. The meth subject was cited at the scene. 

 

0337 hrs / Narcotics / Hwy 101 at Santa Claus Lane

A traffic stop was initiated on a vehicle for front tinted windows. Two of the three occupants were on active probation. During a pat down search of the only subject not on probation, he was found in possession of meth and a meth pipe. He was cited for the violations and the driver was cited for driving with a suspended driver’s license. 

 

Wednesday, April 12

0813 hrs / Incident / 4900 block Carpinteria Avenue

State Parole requested assistance to take a parolee on GPS monitoring into custody. The subject was found again to be in possession of child porn. Several cell phones were seized as well. He was paroled about six months ago after serving over 10 years for possession of child porn. This was his second violation since his release.

 

2224 hrs / Narcotics / 6100 block Carpinteria Avenue

A man was contacted while he and his girlfriend slept in their vehicle with the vehicle running. A records check showed the man was on active probation and he admitted he had methamphetamine inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and 20.2 g of methamphetamine was located. The man was issued a citation for being in violation of his probation and was released from the scene. 

 

0035 hrs / Incident / 4100 block Via Real

Deputies responded to Santa Monica Road to a report of a domestic violence restraining order violation at a local convenience store.

 

Thursday, April 13

1254 hrs / Incident / Canalino Elementary School

Two male subjects hopped a fence from an adjacent residence onto the school property. The subjects were seen on campus by school staff as they were walking off campus towards Linden Avenue. The subjects told school staff they were volunteering and had a child in school, a third grader, which turned out to be incorrect. It appears the subjects were unlawfully in a neighboring yard and inadvertently jumped the fence onto school property. 

 

0009 hrs / Incident / Santa Ynez Avenue and Aragon Drive

A traffic enforcement stop was made on a vehicle for expired registration tabs. The driver was contacted and admitted to consuming alcohol prior to driving. A records check showed the driver was on a suspended driver license and was on DUI probation. FSTs were conducted and the driver’s PAS reading was .246%. He was arrested and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Friday, April 14

1425 hrs / Incident / Carpinteria Avenue and Cramer Road

A man was reported by Aliso Elementary School parents as being possibly impaired and with his pants down across the street from the school as school was about to be let out. The man, a transient out of Los Angeles, had just arrived by train and was found near a liquor store where he was found with an open container and intoxicated. He was arrested and booked in Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

2252 hrs / Narcotics / Carpinteria Avenue

A consensual encounter with two men was conducted. A records check showed one of the men was on active parole. A parole search was conducted of him and his vehicle and person. He was in possession of methamphetamine and the other man was in possession of cocaine. Both were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

0319 hrs / Incident / Gibraltar Road

Goleta and Carpinteria units responded to an unknown subject in the 2700-2800 block of Gibraltar Road. While checking the area, a vehicle believed to be involved was stopped. One of the passengers was found to have a $150,000 felony warrant for his arrest. While at the vehicle, another man, who was very intoxicated and found to be a danger to himself and others, walked up to the deputies. He was arrested and when he was escorted to the patrol vehicle, he became combative. Both men were transported and booked into Santa Barbara County Jail.

 

Saturday, April 15

2138 hrs / Incident / Bailard Avenue and Via Real

Vehicle exiting at the Bailard Avenue off-ramp collided with a bicyclist in the area. No injuries were reported or observed. 

 

2259 hrs / Incident / 5500 block Carpinteria Avenue

Deputies responded to a local hotel for a fight in progress. During the investigation, it was discovered the victim was involved in a physical altercation with two unknown subjects. The victim had multiple injuries to the face and was transported to the hospital. The victim was heavily intoxicated and could not provide further details of the incident. Witnesses described the suspects and deputies searched the area but were unable to locate any suspects. Follow-up will be conducted by patrol. 

 

0030 hrs / Incident / 6000 block Casitas Pass Road

Traffic enforcement stop was conducted on a truck for running a stop sign and traveling at speeds in excess of 130 mph. During the investigation, the driver displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the scene and took over the investigation. 

 

0107 hrs / Incident / South Hwy 101 at Bailard Avenue

A traffic enforcement stop was conducted on a vehicle after it was observed driving the wrong way on Bailard Avenue. Dispatch personnel advised the vehicle had recently been reported colliding into a guard rail while exiting the freeway. The driver displayed signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. CHP responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
